ELIGIBILITY OF MEMBERSHIP

The membership of the Association shall be open to all those citizens of the People's Republic of Bangladesh who (a) have sound mind, (b) subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Association as laid down in the Memorandum of the Association, (c) belong to the professionals as per criteria mentioned under different categories of members, (d) do not have any criminal record, (e) pay to the funds of the Association such subscriptions as may be provided hereafter, and (f) who shall undertake to abide by the rules and regulations of the Association. Members shall be included without regard to race, religion, sex or political affiliation. The honorary Membership however may also be open to national or international persons of repute in accordance with the provision laid down hereafter or as modified from time to time.

CLASSIFICATION OF MEMBER

a. General Member

I) Any professional having recognized post graduate degree/diploma in Epidemiology; OR II) Any professional having post graduate degree in any branch of public health and who has taken Epidemiology as career specialty for more than 3 (three) years OR III) One-year formal training in Epidemiology and who has taken Epidemiology as career specialty for more than 3 (three) years Is eligible for being accepted as member of the Association by paying an admission fee of Tk. 500 (Five Hundred Taka) and an annual subscription of Tk. 1,000 (One Thousand Taka). These fees can be updated time to time proposed by the EC which further shall need approval at the AGM.

b. Life Member

Any general member who pays a sum of Tk. 10,000/- (Tk. Ten thousand) is eligible for becoming Life Member of the Association without any further obligation of membership subscription during his/her life time; or any person who is eligible as per Article "4" of the constitution for being accepted as Member of the Association in the manner laid down hereafter can also become a life member of the Association by paying an admission fee of Tk. 500.00 and life subscription of Tk. 10,000.00 without any further obligation of membership subscription during his/her life time. These fees can be updated time to time proposed by the EC which further shall need approval at the AGM.

c. Associate Member

Public Health professionals with a post graduate degree or diploma in different specialties of public health other than epidemiology but who do not meet the eligibility criteria of a General Member but who are actively involved in epidemiological research, surveillance, teaching and training are eligible for being accepted as associate member of the Association by paying admission and annual subscription fees. Associate members shall enjoy all privileges of the organization except voting rights and shall not also be eligible for election to the Executive Committee of EPAB.

d. Honorary Member

National or International individuals of high scientific or literacy attainments or who have rendered conspicuous services to Biomedical or Social Sciences or individuals whose contributions are noteworthy to the Association can be elected as Honorary Members by the E.C., duly approved by the general meeting. Members so elected shall enjoy such privileges enjoyed by the general members of the Association except voting rights.

e. Founder Life Member

All Life Members of the Association as they are on the day of the first commission of the Association, the first day of April, 1995, who have initiated the formation of the Association shall be considered as the Founder Life Member of the Association.

All General Members of the Association as they are on the day of the first commission of the Association, the first day of April, 1995, who have initiated the formation of the Association shall be considered as Founder Member of the Association.

g. Affiliate Members

For furtherance of the aims and objects of the Association, the Association shall have the right to affiliate to any National or International Association, Society or Scientific Organization, either in Bangladesh or abroad on terms mutually decided upon and approved by the Executive Committee. Members of affiliated bodies shall be reciprocally entitled to such privileges as agreed upon except voting rights. The Association may terminate any such affiliation (after due notice on either side) by a resolution passed by the Executive Committee.

RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES AND OBLIGATIONS OF MEMBERS

a. Rights and Privileges:

Different kinds of members shall enjoy the following rights and privileges.
I. Right to vote: All members described under clause a, b, e and f of Article "5" have the right to vote in the election of the Association.
II. Eligibility for Election: All members described under a, b, e and f of article "5" shall be eligible for election to any office of the Association.
III. Eligibility for Nomination: All members described under a, b, e and f of article "5" shall be eligible for nomination as members to the Executive Committee or to any sub-committee of the Association.
IV. All members shall have the right to attend and take part in the General meetings, seminar, lectures, demonstrations, conferences etc. organized by the Association.
V. All members shall be supplied with copies of all publications of the Association free of cost or at such rates as the Executive Committee fix from time to time.
VI. The affiliated Associations shall send duly authorized representative to attend the General meeting of the Association and such representative shall have the right and privileges as specified in the article.
VII. Life members shall enjoy privileges of membership of the branch within whose jurisdiction they may happen to reside at the time of membership.
VIII. All members shall enjoy any other privileges that may hereafter be conferred by the Executive Committee.
IX. Every member shall remain member of the Association until his/her membership is terminated in accordance with the provisions hereafter contained.

b. Obligations of the Members:

i. All members shall subscribe to the aims and objectives of the Association.
ii. The members shall abide by the Rules and Regulations of the constitution of the Association.
iii. The members shall abide by any decision taken by the Executive Committee of the Association from time to time.

DURATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Every member shall remain a member until his/her membership ends or is terminated in accordance with the provisions hereinafter contained.

BECOME A MEMBER

Process of acquisition of membership

a) Every applicant for admission to membership of the Association shall apply to the General Secretary of the Association, or to such person as the Executive Committee shall decide from time to time for such purpose, in prescribed form. The latter will place it before the Executive Committee meeting and if approved, the applicant will be eligible for membership.
b) The Executive Committee shall not be bound to give any reason for accepting or refusing the application of any person for admission to membership of the Association.

নতুন সদস্যপদ প্রার্থীদের সদস্য ফি প্রদানের জন্য নিম্নলিখিত ধাপসমূহ অনুসরণ করতে হবে:
১. নির্দিষ্ট ওয়েবসাইটে https://epab-bd.org/ প্রবেশ করে প্রদত্ত গুগল ফর্ম পূরণ করতে হবে।
২. ফর্মের সাথে প্রয়োজনীয় কাগজপত্র ও সাম্প্রতিক ছবি আপলোড করতে হবে।
৩. সফল ভাবে ফর্ম জমা দেওয়ার পর অনুমোদনের জন্য অপেক্ষা করতে হবে। অনুমোদন সম্পন্ন হলে সংশ্লিষ্ট সদস্যকে ই-মেইল অথবা হোয়াটস্যাপের মাধ্যমে জানানো হবে।
৪. অনুমোদনের প্রাপ্তির পর নির্ধারিত বিকাশ নম্বরে (০১৮১০ ১৫৯৬৫৭) পেমেন্ট অপশন ব্যবহার করে সদস্য ফি প্রদান করতে হবে।
৫. পেমেন্ট সম্পন্ন হলে বিকাশের রেফারেন্স নম্বর ই-মেইল অথবা হোয়াটস্যাপের মাধ্যমে পাঠাতে হবে।
৬. ফিরতি ইমেইলের মাধ্যমে আপনার মেম্বারশীপ নাম্বার জানানো হবে। যে কোনো প্রয়োজনে যোগাযোগ:০১৮১০ ১৫৯৬৫৭

মেম্বারশীপ নবায়ন এবং মেম্বারশীপ টাইপ (জেনারেল থেকে লাইফ) পরিবর্তনের ক্ষেত্রে:
১। নির্দিষ্ট ওয়েবসাইটে https://epab-bd.org/ প্রবেশ করে প্রদত্ত রিনিউ ফর্ম পূরণ করতে হবে।
২।নির্ধারিত বিকাশ নম্বরে (০১৮১০ ১৫৯৬৫৭)পেমেন্ট অপশন ব্যবহার করে সদস্যপদ রিনিউ / মেম্বারশীপ টাইপ পরিবর্তন ফি প্রদান করতে হবে।
৩।পেমেন্ট সম্পন্ন হলে বিকাশের রেফারেন্স নম্বর ই-মেইল অথবা হোয়াটস্যাপের মাধ্যমে পাঠাতে হবে।
৪। ফিরতি ইমেইলের মাধ্যমে আপনার প্রেমেন্ট প্রাপ্তির ব্যাপারে অবহিত করা হবে।
